If you're healthy and not yet retired think about selling blood products, Plasma, whole blood etc. I've seen a video about a guy who semi retired at 62 living his best life in a mid sized trailer, traveling around each day finding a better cup of coffee than the day before. That guy is "crushing it"

Retiring means lots of time for maintaining the stuff you have accumulated. Not much need to hire someone as most of the repair instructions are here on RUclips and right to repair is the law of the land. If you no longer like to work on cars and have come to the realisation that honest mechanics are nearly nonexistent, you will want to consider bike commuting. You will have the time and can always rent a vehicle the few times a year when it is necessary.

Wow. I can't remember seeing a seven minute video that packed more useful information in it than this one. (Many instructional videos don't ever _start_ to get to meat of the discussion until _after_ seven minutes, or more, of pointless ramblings have gone on!) Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Thanks for taking the time to put your many other videos together too. I like the idea of delaying SS for as long as I can. The yearly increases, about 8% each year, are guaranteed. (Your percentage increase from receiving benefits at 62 vs receiving them at 67 is exactly 42.86%. This is the same percentage for everyone regardless of the actual benefit amount. And waiting until age 70, if you can do so, is a 24% increase from your age 67 benefit.) These percentages are high enough to be worth considering. (And yes, of course there's also the SS adjustments from COLA.) My 401K has not done very well at all the past three or four years. That growth, while it might be potentially more, can also be much less, given a few consecutive bad years. I plan on living to be 90+. I never smoked, never drank, was never overweight.. and both of my grandparents made it that far. And my mom is also still alive, whom I resemble and take after. (She is 84.) Hopefully I inherited some of these longevity genes. I also like the idea of receiving a fat monthly SS check for many, many years!

There might be one exception to not telling your fiscal details to family .After being in the situation of having to “ re do “ my Estate paperwork I was strongly advised to give my two kids a heads up as to how I see it as of right now . The Hollywood version of the family sitting in front of a lawyer for the big reveal is not recommended. Yes sir watch your program as much as I can when I have the time I worked all my life even as a young boy lifting 5060 pound bags of potato sacks when my uncle who I live with, wouldn’t leave me out just for so many hours in which we were allowed to work at that time when I got my work papers at 14 and that paid some of my board in room and gave me a little bit of spending money. It wasn’t until I started Working on a full-time basis, so I learned to be very frugal with my money. I had to grow up real fast as I was a Bandan by my father and mother, my brother and I and my uncle took us over and raised us he had had enough times as it was on the little Social Security check. He got back in his day, without having more burden on his shoulders, but anyway, my wife and I are retired at the age of 70 because number one we wanted to receive the 8% per year that we were entitled to which gave us an upswing of almost 25% of income added to our Social Security. In the meanwhile, I have been working every day a 40 hour week because my health is good and I’ve been able to do so and every two years I check for a computation every November, and usually every two years I get a small computation nothing major just a small little computation and they do this every year they check you out, and if you asked when your call up in November, if you’re going to receive a computation they’ll tell you where they are so no without you and then you’ll get paperwork in the mail but I will continue working as long as I can. I do not understand people who have very little as it is just to lay down and call it quits and retire at 62 years old to me. This is the dumbest and stupidest thing. A person can do especially a person who does not have a lot we are like everybody else the working class who have struggled all our lives to try to make a few dollars here in a few dollars there and make it stretch when you raise a family and pay for all the amenities you have to pay for it wasn’t too much money left, it is still a struggle and we will not retire until we cannot work anymore. We have made it clear to each other that we are better off to keep going keeping after of watching our health and exercising when we can and eating healthy so that we will continue having some kind of income so that we can continue putting our Social Security checks away but when the day comes, we cannot retire anymore we live basically on a working trucks we both work 40 hours a week. Sometimes I work overtime. Yeah that’s the route but when I have a chance to grab it, I take it, God bless and protect you and yours. Love your programming. I watch it like I say when I can sorry to make this so long please forgive any spelling errors that might be in this. I didn’t get a chance to check it out and I’m just too exhausted long live the republic.

I believe it goes to 10k and 2024 is 8k. You can also contribute 30.5k in a Roth 401k.

Thank you Mr S, first. Retired Mr S, pension, 401K and SS (62). My pension and my SS gives me more money then I made during my last years working. My 401K is my funny money and we are off to a world cruise next year!

Sounds like you’re sitting pretty good. Enjoy your retirement and getting out of the rat race.

The biggest problem is the present administration and big companies causing inflation and making it hard for people to live.

77 years old. The usual life - widowed young and raised a child alone. There is no secret to financial success: live within your means, understand what you invest in, and don't buy what you don't need or use. 70 years ago, I read an article in Readers Digest about a retired school principal. He had a nice home. How did he do it? He worked and his wife did not. So they owned one car. They never bought furniture on credit, only when they had accumulated enough money. How do I do it? I drive a 20 year old maintained car. I use one credit card and check/pay the balance every morning. I am well aware that 1/2 of a person's lifetime medical expenses are incurred in the final illness. My medical coverage is in place and I have an estate plan that allows someone else to handle things for me.
